A family farm, shared

Monapilla is a family working farm in McLaren Vale — land that has been worked for generations, with the coast on one side and the vines on the other. It’s a quiet corner of one of Australia’s best-known wine regions, and for a long time it was ours alone.

Monapilla Escape grew out of a simple idea: to share that quiet. We built two off-grid villas, set well apart on the farm, so guests could have the land to themselves — the views, the space, the stars — without giving up comfort. Everything runs on solar and rainwater, in keeping with how the farm has always worked: lightly, and on its own terms.

We’re still a working farm, and that’s the point. The animals, the seasons and the rhythm of the land are all part of the stay. Guests are welcome to walk the paddocks, meet the animals, and settle into a slower pace for a few days.
